: This article's aim is to summarize the current literature on DNET and DNET management. Dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumors (DNETs) are rare, low-grade glioneuronal tumors that primarily affect children and young adults. These tumors represent about 1.5% of all primary brain tumors, with the temporal lobe being the most common site of occurrence. DNETs are typically benign, with patients often presenting with seizures as the primary symptom. Despite their benign nature, these tumors can occasionally lead to serious complications, such as metastasis and recurrence, which are rare but can be fatal. The standard treatment includes surgical resection, which often results in a good prognosis, although incomplete resections might still offer relief from seizures. Ophthalmologists should be aware of DNETs due to their potential to cause visual symptoms, such as homonymous hemianopsia when located near the visual pathways. Understanding these tumors is crucial for accurate diagnosis, management, and follow up particularly when ophthalmic symptoms are present, as misdiagnosis could lead to suboptimal treatment outcomes such as permanent vision loss or death.   +
