Dr. Shannon S. Joseph is an Associate Professor and Medical Director of Eye Plastic, Orbital, and Facial Cosmetic Surgery at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Joseph received her medical training from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. She then completed her ophthalmology residency at the Wilmer Eye Institute of the Johns Hopkins Hospital, followed by a highly specialized fellowship in oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, accredited by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Joseph was Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute prior to returning to the University of Michigan, where she is currently an Associate Professor. Dr. Joseph specializes in the following conditions and procedures: cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelid and periorbital area, orbital surgery, Mohs/skin cancer reconstruction, eyelid and orbital tumors, orbital trauma, thyroid eye disease, and facial paralysis. She is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.
