Fibrotic bands from the levator aponeurosis attach to the pretarsal orbicularis muscle, subcutaneous tissue, and skin. Eyelid morphology II (right): the fusion site of the orbital septum and levator aponeurosis occurs at a lower position, below the superior border of the tarsus.
