Bilateral angioid streaks: A and D: Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) reveal disruptions or irregularities in Bruch's membrane (yellow arrows) and the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE). B and C: Angioid streaks typically appear as dark, reddish-brown, or grayish streaks (blue arrows) radiating out from the optic disc. E and H: Red-free imaging enhances contrast in the retinal vessels and provides a clear view of the angioid streaks. Angioid streaks appear as dark, irregularly branching lines (green arrows) radiating from the optic disc, often more noticeable than on standard fundus photography but less than autofluorescence (AF). F and G: On AF, angioid streaks may appear as areas of hypoautofluorescence (green arrows) if there is associated RPE atrophy. Hyperautofluorescence can be seen around the edges if there is active metabolic stress in the RPE cells bordering the streaks. The hyperfluorescent area (indicated by red arrows in images E-H) in the foveal region corresponds to an adult-onset vitelliform deposit. (Image courtesy of J. Khadamy)
